Checked the new patch, did some tweaking, and indeed, the frame rate is more stable, and running it full tilt I now get 45-60 relatively consistently.

It's truly unfortunate, though. I didn't expect a second patch during the beta, especially one so close to release, that last week I had actually pre-ordered the 360 version.

Probably for the best. While I would have loved to play with you and Toku and the PC dudes, it looks like I'll nab it on computer machine if I catch a physical copy on sale or via steam or whatnot.

At this point I'd consider yourself lucky, regarding 1943. Having not played it means you haven't had a chance to rage hard enough to raise your blood pressure 30 points yet.

I'm going to give it another week before (digitally) shelving it, I think. Shit's too aggrivating. Entertainment you've bought to relax with should not actively piss you off thanks to such a shit technical execution.

Also, don't even think about trying to play BF1943. Clearly no one at EA or DICE has any as they've made it virtually impossible to play with friends online. Skills and I tried to join a game together and it took ages, and when it did finally work they decided to split us up and put us on opposite teams after one round.

It's getting better, and hopefully it'll start working more consistently soon, but it can be bloody annoying at the moment. But yes, lots of fun once you do get in.

It's fun as fuck when it works.

But sometimes it takes upwards of an hour to work, only to freeze 10 minutes in.

I'm tempted to say "nah, you probably wouldn't", simply because this thing doesn't like to let you join your friends at all. It's a pain in the ass joining a friend's game. Hell, joining any game is a crap shoot.

I am glad you think the game is 'incredibly fun' because I have yet to play it. I am broke and I have a gift cert. at Best Buy but the damn store won't even have any copies until next week, according to their own website. It takes them forever to get their games apparently!

Sadly no, I haven't been playing it pretty much at all lately, what with the move and all.

There's no timer, but I'm fairly certain I've poured a good 30-40 hours at least. There's so much text to read even a "short" bit of progress storywise can contain so much dialogue and side quests it'll take 2 hours.

I'm probably halfway or so. Progress in the main plot is slow even when I have time since there's just so much to do and it's ALL relevant, hardly any of the side quests feel incidental. I love it <3

yep...im like that with a lot of the older rpgs, in fact. ive gotten a few behind me, but there are still always some games left to play...like FF6/3. im gunna try to beat that after CT...or at least i would if i could get confirmation that no super powered DS remake is coming out

only actual mana game ive out and out beaten is Sword of...i remember i tried Secret, but the AI kept getting stuck on a rock somewhere

Ha. I definitely agree with that. I'll get crackin' on the Suikoden series ASAP! I've played them all, but I always wanted to beat the first one before any of the others, and I just did so recently.
