People on the internet just get carried away. It's more obvious with negativity, but sometimes hype gets a little silly as well. It's a bit of an over-indulgence.

Funny thing though is sometimes the negativity makes a game seem better than it actually is, because you go into it expecting a trainwreck and discover it to be "okay".

Why don't you think you should like The Order? It wasn't that bad, just kind of mechanically shallow. No worse than something like Gears of War, except they didn't get the gameplay balance quite right.

Ryse was so pretty that I left the settings on high despite the insane frame rate dips I would get in certain areas (down to 20 fps!). I wasn't that engaged in the gameplay anyway. It was fine, I just wasn't that into it.

Funny that you are playing these two at the same time.

It was better than I would have assumed it was, though it did grow thin by the end. Only after seeing constant support for it in Steam Sale threads did I decide to give it a shot myself. That's also how I discovered other games I would have otherwise ignored, like Binary Domain.

The basic idea is that the game is one part RTS, one part strategic (Risk), and one part political. In between combat missions you have to juggle the different wants and needs of various fantasy races by making political choices. The issues up for debate tend to be parody versions of real life political issues, and each race represents a different political extreme. I had never played a Divinity game before, but apparently they have a sense of humor.

You could always play it again, it's not like you have much else to play.

A little bit? Video games aren't like pokemon you know, you don't have to catch them all.

How was Tomb Raider? I haven't gotten around to it yet. Been binge playing all my Humble Bundle junk.

Finally updated my page and started playing some of the PS4 stuff. Thinking I need to make a Rocket League theme... On your end, at least you play Tomb Raider games frequently enough that you never *really* need to change it.

Please tell me you at least took advantage of one of the amazing deals they keep putting out for those things in an attempt to "catch up".

Quantum Break is the one Xbox game I'm really sore for not having on PC. Though I think Scalebound looks promising too, and I grumble constantly about not having Halo collection on PC, though that's largely just a curiosity for me.

I sort of want to try the Steam controller, but I don't want to buy it and have it take up space if I wouldn't actually use it.

If I had an Xbox I would probably get Tomb Raider too. Or could you not wait 3 months and got it specifically for Tomb Raider?

Happy Belated Backloggiversary too.

I know what you mean about Max never quite figuring out using her powers to gain foreknowledge, the thought occurred to me as well, but it's been that way since the beginning so it didn't surprise or bother me much.

Remember Me was cool. It was a little rough and didn't quite capitalize on some of its best aspects, but it didn't really deserve the negativity it got.
