Well, looks like I just missed my Backloggiversary by a few days and well, it's just a shade of how unproductive my backlog chewing has been.

Looking at the Memory Card entries by a year by year breakdown, we can see the current trend and potentially the outlook of my current playing habits. 2011-2012 were humble beginnings, buying games at a decent rate, my wallet at the time a veteran of steam sales and plenty of time to get down to business considering I was still studying at the time.

Fast track to early 2013 and we can see the downward spiral that became my backlog. Working full-time meant 2 issues in according to my backlog.

1. A lot of new games.
2. Not a lot of time to play them.

But this is not entirely true. 2013 while it did see a massive 105 new additions, it did see 49 Beaten and 24 Completed, giving only a new loss of 33. Was I getting anywhere? No, but that is still a lot of titles being worked on. We'll get back to this.

Moving on to 2014 and 2015 the amount of games being added AND games being beaten have dropped considerably. There were a couple of trends involved, but the big reason is a became diagnosed with a persistent chronic headache. In other words, I had one headache that lasted about nearly 2 years starting around late November 2013. Don't worry, I'm better now and have been back at work for about 3 months part-time, moving to full-time as of this week. But I was unable to work from about July 2014 til February 2016. This also meant 2 things.

1. Not a lot of new games.
2. A lot of time to play them, but not being well enough to play them a lot.

We can see things slowing down on the Memory Card in 2014 and then even making some (albeit, small) progress in 2015.

But having said all that, some of these stats don't line up. There is a reason for that.

In August 2013, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn released. I bought the collectors edition for collectors purposes only, but noticing that the 30 days included didn't need any payment information to use I thought I'd give it a look for a month and then move on. Some old friends were starting it up and I said to myself why not. 30 days later and I'm complaining that they cut me off.

Since then it's been a downward spiral. Every now and then I have a break for a month here and there but a lot of time goes towards it. Also doesn't help that I'm enjoying Hearthstone a lot in the last 6 months too...

At least Fire Emblem Fates is fun.

You have some fantastic games you are working on - The Last Story, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Tales of the Abyss. Those are some of my favorite games ever. I saw that you had nulled Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings of the Lost Ocean. I hope you will go back and finish it some time. That game is my favorite game of all time. Yeah, the voice work sucks, but I thought the story was very interesting, the graphics are quite good (for the time), the combat is pretty unique, the characters had me emotionally involved, and the music is truly outstanding. The ending is very thorough - prepare for a movie length cutscene ending (totally worth it, though!). Anyway, I enjoyed looking through your collection and I hope it's okay I gave you some of my thoughts on a few of the games you have in your possession. Happy belated Backloggiversary!

Oh, by the way, what do you think of Fantasy Life? I've had my eye on that one for a while; I just don't want to pay full price for it (in case you couldn't tell, I am a total sucker for a good RPG). Thanks!

Whelp, Backloggiversary time again. This one REALLY did creep up on me this time.

Since I've been out of an income for a while now, I've been able to tackle my backlog rather well, with new games few and between. Problem has been, however, I'm picking up a trend where I've been enjoying a lot of the last few games and wanted to play them to completion before moving on.

But, the backlog is being cleared at a rather stable pace. Last two monnths in particular have been tough as far as clearing games goes, as Destiny of Spirits is due to shut down in less than a month at the time of writing and I had to keep a rather strict schedule in order to get that last blasted trophy for clearing all areas. I can rest easy now, as I've gone back to enjoy playing games and knocking out that backlog at a more relax pace.

....just in time for it to go all to hell when the Heavensward expansion releases later this month.

Xenoverse is...interesting. Definitely a step up from the last few releases like Battle of Z, it's got a lot free fighting, like the Raging Blast games instead of being comparable to the Budokai games. There's also the in-depth character creation (well, in-depth for a DBZ game), and definitely a lot of content to keep you interested. Lot's of options for online play with other people as well, and as a whole it's pretty solid.
