March Update: A Backlog Too Lame For a Lime
(This account is abandoned, but I have a fresh new blank slate one)

Let's talk something here: I'm really getting sick of this unchangeable name. I know this resolved on the site remake, but I have other issues under my skin at the moment. That happened to creep back out from last year considering how messy it was.

It's two months into the year and already I am having itches to move a lot around en masse. Thus screwing up my backlog once again. You may not know me, but it's a very fussy/OCD life of mine.

I was also having other major thoughts too, including yet another system wipe of my backlog, which may also lead to another re-reset which would make it even worse, but I'm pretty, pretty *Pretty* sure this will be it.

The reason I do this again is I am "Admitting Defeat" meaning I once had a long-time goal to beat games and make excellent progress down the road. It wasn't going too well for my whole collection. That's why you might have seen me temporarily delete my PnP games in desperation. But really, I shouldn't be doing that if I am just going to casually play games. This time around, I will play games and nothing else. Won't even try to forcefully beat them.

So follow and multitap me on my new account. And I am making a new account and abandoning this one just so I don't go insane under aesthetics (Like, I'm looking at my memory card and trends and feel it would be bonkers once I reset everything and add more games in). But hopefully this so-called weight of mine (mentally) would be lifted off my shoulders once I do it. As for member status, badges, time since erection of account, I will ignore all that and just do it regardless of how long I've been here.

Hey, thanks! Yeah, in your situation it's not the worst idea to hold off buying too many physical games. When I moved, moving my entire collection was a huge pain and took a lot of time. Obviously it was worth it, but if you're planning to move out down the road it might not be a bad idea to keep your load light!

Yeah, we used to have EB Games here in the US but they all eventually got converted to Gamestops. Where are you, Canada? Finding stores to buy the games at reasonable prices is definitely the best way build a collection, and I'm fortunate to have multiple in my area, and my favorite one is five minutes away from my house! Aside from that, eBay with a little patience is also a good way to do it, build up a "saved search" list of games you're looking for and wait until you get an opportunity to bid on what you're looking for below all the buy-it-nows. Craigslist might be worth a look, but it's not easy to find deals on games there as it used to be.

Hollow Knight is pretty fantastic and you should definitely play it. It's very much a "Metroidvania", in that the entire game is like one really massive dungeon that you can access more and more of as you unlock more abilities. The Shantae games are a very similar style, but they're slightly different because the levels a little more segregated. But if you like Shantae, I don't see any good reason why you wouldn't also like Hollow Knight. The only real complaint I have is that backtracking can be a bit of a pain.

Confused: Playing 10+ games at once
I disagree, the PS1 hacking was by far the easiest I've hacked a console. The Genesis Mini hack was significantly more difficult, though even that wasn't bad. I just used Autobleem which basically is just put the files and games on a USB and stick it in. Though, I guess if you factor in the time that it takes to move the games over to your USB, it does take longer, only because PS1 games are so much bigger than Genesis games.

I even recently got a new higher speed USB stick for my Genesis Mini, meaning it doesn't take longer than normal to save/load on game menus. Strangely, this only happens on the stock UI, not games through RetroArch. It's fixed now though, so I can keep it in and eventually load up even more old Sega games.

Oh, if you have S3&K on Steam, Angel Island Revisited should detect your save file. I think. It's been a while, but I do know it requires the game on Steam. As for Complete, I can vouch that it works pretty well on the Genesis Mini. The Blue Sphere stages seem to chug a bit at higher speeds, but I don't know if that was only because I didn't have the Mini overclocked or if it was my slow USB stick. It's definitely playable, though.

Yes, the Genesis Mini has been hacked for a couple of weeks now. All of the games I put on it are under the Plug and Play tab, I have not only Genesis games on it, but Game Gear, Master System, and even 32X. I aim to put Sega CD games on it too in the future, since I have a 128GB USB stick for it.

For Sonic 3, it's probably better to play 3 Complete if you want to play it on the Mini, Complete has a lot of cool features, like super cancel, customizable music, and Flying Battery after Carnival Night.

If you're willing to play on PC and have a USB Genesis/Saturn controller, look into Angel Island Revisted. It's a Sonic 3&K fangame which, like Complete, has its own features, but maybe not as many as Complete...however, since it's a recent game and not just a patch for the original game, it doesn't have any of the trouble with the Chaos/Super emerald flickering and artwork not loading.

I have also hacked my PS1 classic, and plan to hack my SNES mini, as well as PC Engine mini when that gets hacked.
