Consider Yourself a Hero: Majority of games are beaten
I've not heard much about it, but that's an interesting comparison.

Like I said, I think at least some of Dead Island's suckiness could've been mitigated if they'd just been a bit more generous with the guns. Yeah, I get it. It's trying to be a "realistic" zombie apocalypse where firearms are scarce, hoarded, etc., but it went too overboard. To add insult to injury, they gave one of the characters a special ability that improves their gun skills IIRC. They should've at least had some weak default gun you could fall back on, but noooo, it forces melee weapons down your throat until you get lucky enough to find a gun, and when that runs out, you're back to the drunk-ass melee controls. Looks like the characters didn't watch "The Legend of Drunken Master".

Part of me is glad that game flopped, though, for the reason I mentioned earlier. Seriously, I got shit on so much for choosing not to get this game. I had friends installing the damn thing on their Xbox hard drive just because "it was gonna be awesome". They thought the online would be huge and last forever or something. When I got to play the game and criticize it, I got even more hate over XBL. People defend it to the death.

Herald of Bak'laag: 500+ unfinished games
Treasure Hunter: 1000+ games
I didn't like dead island either.
The crafting of different weapons sounded cool, I'd totally have made an electric machette.
But when I actually played the game, it was loot, loot, loot, right trigger spam until enemies are dead, rinse, wash, repeat.
It was ok with a friend, but somehow I got really bored after an hour, that's saying something.
I've hypothesized that playing with a piece of garbage could be made fun with friends, but if a video game can be this dull it doesn't last long even with a friend, that so bad, it's impressive.

Yeah, and the online died in less than a month. I dunno, not only was the gameplay bad, but it felt like little more than just another zombie game. They advertised the four-player co-op as though it was some new magical concept.

Ugh, the melee controls. And you'd have hours to learn how drunken they were because the game tried to go the whole "guns are scarce" route.
